James is an actor, musician, producer and writer from Naarm/Melbourne, Australia.

He is graduate of the Howard Fine Acting Studio Full Time program and previously attended Monash University, where he achieved his Bachelor of Arts, majoring in English, Theatre and Film Studies.

James is an active member of the Melbourne independent theatre scene, engaging on and offstage in productions with several companies. He is the co-AD of Spinning Plates Co., a theatre group formed with Jessica Stanley. Their critically revered 2023 production of THE CROCODILE by Tom Basden sold out and was remounted due to popular demand. Spinning Plates Co. are currently preparing to stage a new version of RHINOCEROS at fortyfivedownstairs in November.

James also appeared on stage in the acclaimed production of Psychopomp at LaMama (Barking Spider, 2015), Rainbow Man (Goodnight Darlings, 2017) and Philtrum (North of Eight, 2018). In 2022, 2023 and 2024 James toured the state in educational productions of Oedipus the King, Medea, The Crucible and The Dressmaker with Complete Works Theatre Company.

Screen credits include Netflix’s Son of a Donkey, Stan Original series Bloom, independent feature Angel Of Light, and shorts Famished, Punchline, Deceased Estate, Chaos Calls and Pitch Black. He has also appeared in music videos for The Amity Affliction, Tones & I and Leroy Macqueen. James is currently developing a short form television series set in Melbourne’s underground music scene in the 1980s.

During 2020 James launched his solo music project POP TART; a collection of original home recordings.
